Summer 2022 Internship

Description
Thank you for your interest in Lab/Cor Materials. We are looking for a motivated individual who is interested in materials testing and identification, R&D, and reverse engineering to join our team. This internship will provide you with the opportunity to explore your interests and drive us forward. This position will begin summer 2022 and may be extended as funds allow. The intern will report directly to senior scientists and staff, and will be assigned to a variety of projects throughout the summer. This opportunity will allow you to gain valuable chemical industry experience applicable to future research and industry positions. For high performing applicants full time employment may be offered at the end of the internship.
 
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide support to senior personnel.
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tasks utilizing general wet chemistry techniques and advanced lab instrumentation.
  • Perform basic chemical analyses including FTIR, GC, HPLC, XRF.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation regarding analyses, results, reports and conclusions.
  • Clean, maintain and calibrate standard equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS    
  • Must have a current cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher.
  • Must have a High School diploma or the equivalent of a High School diploma.
  • Have or are pursuing a degree in any of the following: chemistry, physics, materials science, computer science, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory practices and safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office. Applicants with coding skills will be given preference.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ideal candidate will have previous work experience in a lab, data analysis, or similar.
  • Interest in materials testing and identification, R&D, and reverse engineering.
