1. How much sample is required?
The required amount of sample varies depending on the test(s) that we will conduct. Fuel analyses necessitate less than 100 mL of sample. A disposal fee will be charged for fuel samples exceeding 200 mL.
2. Do you have sample pick-up service?
We do not offer sample pick-up as part of analysis service packages. However, we can send a staff member to you if it is absolutely required.
3. Are sample containers available?
We do provide containers, labels, sampling instructions and shipping information at the clients request. Since we provide a wide range of testing services on many different materials, we will walk you through how best to package your sample during the quotation process.
4. How can I send hazardous material samples to you?
Samples may be hand carried to our facility or shipped by a cargo carrier. Carriers require that all hazardous samples MUST be accompanied by properly filled out Hazardous Cargo papers and labels. For further questions involving shipping of hazardous materials, please contact us or your preferred shipping company.
6. Do you have a Chain of Custody Form?
Depending on the type of material you would like us to analyze we have separate chain of custody forms: one for fuel based samples, one for oil based samples and another for general material analysis. These forms can also be accessed under Forms at the top of our website.
7. What methods of payments are accepted?
Typical payment terms are 15 days. For your convenience, we accept cash, check, American Express, VISA, and MasterCard credit cards. Payment in advance may be required for testing of product claims made by new Lab/Cor Materials clients.
8. What is your typical turnaround time? Do you offer rush service?
Typical turnaround time for samples is 3-5 business days for routine procedures, once samples have been received. More complicated evaluations may cause this time to be extended depending on the nature and type of analysis requested. Rush service (less than 3 days) is available when it is required by clients, but it may result in additional charges. Be sure to discuss turnaround times with a Lab/Cor Materials representative during the quotation phase.
9. What procedures do you offer?
Lab/Cor Materials can provide a wide variety of methods. Please browse the Testing Services section of this website for our common methods. We pride ourselves in meeting all of our clients' testing needs, so let us know if you do not see your test on our common methods lists and we will do our best to accommodate you.
10. Do you perform standard methods?
Lab/Cor Materials utilizes various methodologies in its laboratory, including but not limited to ASTM, EPA, CPSC, NEMA and ISO. If you require a specific method for your analytical needs, please call and discuss this with us prior to submitting your sample. Otherwise, we will utilize the most appropriate, recognized method available to analyze your sample.
11. Do you provide discount pricing based on number of samples in frequency of testing?
We discount on a case-by-case basis, according to the number of samples and the number of tests per sample. This will be discussed at the time of the quote. However, our minimum charge per project is $100, so no discount will be given in cases where that discount would result in a charge below $100.
12. Can I have a copy of the procedure used to test my sample?
We can provide summaries of all our procedures and full text of selected procedures. However, many procedures are copyrighted by the respective technical association and they are not free for us to distribute. In those cases we can provide contact information for the specified association.
